Vic : Policeman accused of drugs charges refused bail
A judge says she's satisfied there's a risk a senior detective facing drugs chargeswould carry out a threat to kill a corruption investigator if he were granted bail.
Supreme Court Justice ROSEMARY BALMFORD has refused bail to 47-year-old Detective SeniorSergeant WAYNE GEOFFREY STRAWHORN.
She says she accepts a Crown submission that the threat was seriously made and seriously meant.
The court has heard that STRAWHORN made a threat to personally kill the corruptioninvestigator when he was secretly recorded by police.
STRAWHORN was arrested last month over allegations he was involved in a conspiracywith a former colleague and others to traffic a commercial amount of pseudoephedrine,the main ingredient in speed.
He faces charges of trafficking, two other drugs charges and three counts of threatening to kill.
