Fed: Airport security union wants govt to back better pay

The union representing airport security guards has called on the federal governmentto back their bid for better pay and conditions.

The Australian Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Workers Union also wants airlineindustry support, saying the industry must respect the workers' frontline role in thebattle against terrorists.

It's called on Qantas to play a leading role in improving the workers' pay and conditions.

The LHMU Airport Security section begins a work value case in the Australian IndustrialRelations Commission tomorrow.
